It is worth to pay attention to
Telephone: An International Arts Experiment - online exhibition curated by
Nathan Langston. Today #SatelliteCollective announces the launch of the
TELEPHONE, an international arts game played by over 300 artists from 159
cities in 42 countries.
The idea of this project is rooted in
children’s game Telephone (also called Operator or Grapevine). For example
painting created by one artist is received by another artist and artistic
message is interpreted. This creates a chain of works (poetry, prose,
sculpture, music, painting, installation - all technique allowed!).
The most interesting for me in this
process is aspect that Casey Kelbaugh pointed: I am fascinated to see where the thread leads
from here! This was certainly one of the most pure and exciting explorations of
the creative process in which I have ever taken part.

I am happy that I can see artworks by
Polish artists Kasia M.Rymarz and Joanna Draszawka on the Telephone online
exhibition. Kasia M.Rymarz created very intriguing painting installation
interpreting Ethan Woods music, which is rich with images. During the
process of translating someone’s work the main difficulty was how to change the
language of music into the language of visual arts. The music shows plenty of
possibilities for interpreting sounds. The music is like freedom and it gives
the possibility to experience some different space. It seems to be impossible
to catch music and change it into a more disciplined composition like a
painting. That is why I decided to make a painting object with light. –

And Ethan Woods music here:
I am under impression of thread, which starts
from Silvino Gonzáles Morales drawing - interpretation of Satellite Collective
prose:
Oh God thy sea is so great and my boat is so small.“

Then the the line leads to sculpture by Amos Oaks:
Next it leads to poetry by Robin Dunn (great!)
The Blue Hat
This is a blue hat.
It loves you real long time,
On your head,
In your Africa closet,
Next to the submarine,
This is your blue hat,
Eating its way out,
Screaming its way out,
Making nice with the kiddies,
This is your blue hat,
A pounding prince,
With cut fingernails and a mouth full of religion,
Demanding that it be cut down in the revolution.

And it ends with installation
by Maurizio Fusillo. His installation gives a space to further intelectual
considerations.
For summary let's read what Joanna Draszawka
said:
I think, that Telephone accompanies us every day. Every word we
say, every gesture, is subject to various interpretations. Losing the original
message is inevitable.

Congratulations for all the Telephone
artists and thanks to #SatelliteCollective!
